" Goldilocks and the Jivin' Bears"

Here's some pictures from a great print of "Goldilocks and the Jivin' Bears"! It is one of the unfamous "Censored Eleven" ( you are gonna see why!)
I hope you'll enjoy the wild jitterbug sequence, a great and funny piece of animation.

Looks like a great cartoon! Freleng was the master of music in animation. Wish that Snow White cartoon of his was made.

Man oh man I hate seeing these old racist cartoons. Its just a wake up call of how white folks really see black folks. Its ignorant and the bad thing about is even today black cartoons are ignorant and making black folks look bad.

Andre Moore,
these products of a particular historical moment cannot be forgotten just for their supposed racist content.
They are just funny cartoons, full of gags, nothing racist in my opinion.
That's my rule: in a cartoon you can do anything and no one would have to complain about it.
Of course, that's only my opinion.

A big fat disclaimer should precede frame grabs from cartoon artifacts with stereotypes. It ain't 1944 anymore.

An imaginative animator (with a big budget) could remake this cartoon today, minus the racial stuff but with hot music & the sexual subtext - and come up with something damn funny. Grandma could try to sell the flaccid wolf Viagra for a good closing gag.

Ooohh..this one looks painted over for sure. Those definitely aren't the original colors. Compare these to the November 11 grabs and you'll see what I mean. That one's a much more beautiful looking version, totally authentic and the one I'd want to own. But I love how you captured enough grabs on this post that you can actually see Goldie and the wolf's dance sequence like a flipbook!

Why did they make Goldilocks Cuban? Probably because they though an African-American girl wouldn't be pretty enough *sigh*

OK, so what's the best course of action to get these banned/censored/politically incorrect cartoons on DVD? I know we'll never see the Disney stuff but what about the rest? My mouth has been watering so long to see a good transfer of COAL BLACK AND DE SEBBEN DWARFS that my saliva glands need replacing!!! I'm 53 and remember seeing some of this material on TV in the 60s but I long for uncut versions. There must be a market for these classics and that market is my generation. However, we are not getting any younger. Hell wouldn't the furor surrounding the release of these cartoons be a good thing, even for the studios?
